As long as I can remember, I have always had a love of drawing. I began my art work later in life and after taking pencil drawing classes with a renowned artist in Niagara, Ontario, I also discovered a wonderful local Russian-born artist who taught me about depth of colour and the freedom to express myself. I love painting animals with an affinity for painting cats, of which I have several. I enjoy capturing their spirit on the canvas. My paintings always reflect the animal caught in a moment in time that creates a special memory. I believe that when you view my painting, it should bring a smile to your heart.
I enjoy realism art and working with oils, acrylics, water colours and pencil. I am also venturing into mixed media and working with clay. My husband and I have recently relocated to beautiful Gabriola Island, British Columbia. Surrounded by the beauty here, I look forward to new ways of expressing myself.
I am an active member of two artist groups on Gabriola, “The Palette People” and “The Group of Several” here on the island. I have artwork hanging in several of the local Gabriola businesses and professional centres. I enjoy doing commissioned paintings of furry family members, including cats, dogs, birds and other well-loved pets.
