2019 Gustav Klimt was chosen by the Group of Several as the Composite grouping for 2019.  We chose "The Woman in Gold" to learn the use of Gold, silver and copper leaf, jewels, fabric and symbols.  Five (5) artists painted 10 -12x24 inch panels.

"The Woman in Gold" was incredibly difficult to paint.  Randi Lynch is our brilliant abstract artist and she rallied us when we got into difficulty.  Randi Lynch painted the jewels on the arms and the dress.  Randi Lynch understood the symbols and the great detail that Gustav Klimt used.  Esther Robison chose to paint the face of Mrs. Adele Bloch Bauer.  We used 90 pieces of gold leaf, 30 pieces of silver leaf, many tubes and colours of gold paint and jewels. The beautiful paints available to us today, compared to what Klimt had access to was special to use.
